Frequently Asked Questions

 

 

Q: What is included in the service fee?

A: The service fee includes (i) purchasing the item(s) for you; (ii) inspecting and inventorying them on arrival at our facility; (iii) re-packing the item(s) to minimize size and therefore shipping costs; and (iv) shipping them to you. We also take care of all customer service issues between you and merchant. If, for example, your items arrive to us damaged or incorrect, we will return the items to the merchant for you at no additional cost.

 

Q: What happens if the Gopher cannot source my item(s)?

A: If the Gopher cannot source your requested item(s) and you have paid the deposit you will receive a full 100% refund of the deposit.

 

Q: Who is responsible for import duties?

A: The import duties vary from country to country. You are responsible for knowing and paying any import duties as appropriate.

 

Q: Can I make repeat purchases and if so is there a discount?

A: For repeat purchases please discuss with the Gophers concerned and negotiate directly with them. Previous customers have organised a monthly box of groceries and receive a slight discount for their loyalty.

 

Q: Why is my package taking so long to arrive?

A: We attempt to ship items to you within 5 business days of receiving the final payment. We send a confirmation email once the package has been shipped. Depending on the method of shipping we will email you a tracking number for your package* where you can track the progress of your parcel direct with the postal provider. If you have not received this email please contact the relevant Gopher to resend the information.

*If you choose cheaper form of post you may not receive a tracking number.

 

Q: I don't like the items I requested/ I want to change the items.

A: We act as a personal shopper to you. Any defects, problems or otherwise is between you and the manufacturer. For expensive items (over $100) we will also mail you the receipt for you to take the issue up with the retailer.

 

Q: Can I return the item(s)? (i.e. for a different size).

A: We will include receipts with the merchandise which enables you to return the goods direct to the online store. Global Gophers will treat the transaction as a new request, you will therefore be required to pay an additional Gopher fee and cost of shipping.

 

Q: I no longer want to proceed with the transaction.

A: We act as a personal shopper to you. No refund of the deposit will be given if you change your mind, this covers the cost of purchasing items and returning them on your behalf.

 

Q: The item arrived damaged in the mail.

A: We pack all our items to a high standard. If you live in a warm climate you may want to rethink ordering, for example, chocolate which may melt. If the item is damaged please contact the postal provider. For care packages, please return the box to us with items and we will offer a refund (excluding postal costs).

 

Q: How much are the shipping charges?

A: Shipping charges vary depending on speed of shipping, weight and size of package. Please visit www.usps.com to familiarize yourself with the pricing. Shipping charges from the USA based on Global Priority Mail are listed below (updated May 2005) click here to find out whether the country is 3 or 5:

Q: Do you ship to APO/FPO or Military Addresses?

A: Yes - from most countries. The benefits of shipping to APO addresses is that shipping fees are usually the same as for domestic shipping. Most online retailers are reluctant to ship to military addresses so if you want you can ask us to purchase the online items for you and forward them on to you.

 

Q: Can you purchase from an online store that doesn't ship abroad and ship items onto me?

A: Yes. Simply make a request and provide us with the exact URL (webpage address). We will ask for the total amount in advance and purchase the item. When it arrives at our warehouse we will ship it onto you.

Q: How do I add my website link to Global Gophers?

A: Contact us with your site's name, URL, description and country to be listed in. Also, give us the exact URL where the link to Global Gophers can be found and a contact email address so you can be notified when your request has been approved and our site updated. We may reject links at our own discretion. If you cannot link back to us you may still email a link and if deemed useful it will be included.
